Tanabata at Kohoku International Lounge

When July comes, in Japan, there is a traditional cultural festival called Tanabata Festival. During Tanabata, people write their wishes on brightly coloured strips of paper called “tanzaku” and hang them on bamboo branches to have them granted.

Students from Japanese language class and newcomer children’s classes at Kohoku International Lounge have written their wishes/ hopes and have hung them around the bamboo branches, make it become lively, beautiful and meaningful.

May the dark clouds of coronavirus end soon and sun smiles at all of us with positivity and joy!
